Urban Studies
Programs of Study
Elmhurst offers both a major and a minor in urban studies. Both programs are based on the belief that the best way to understand great cities is to experience them, and both follow three paths to learning:
- A solid foundation of theoretical knowledge, acquired in small classes with an emphasis on discussion and interaction
- Practical experience gained in internships, participation in political campaigns, and other kinds of field work
- Off-campus studies that provide the opportunity to compare cities and countries, and give you broad perspective on common urban issues
