e-CHUG
An Online Alcohol Use Self-Screening Instrument for Elmhurst College Students

Elmhurst College offers students free access to the e-CHUG (electronic Check-Up to Go). The e-CHUG is an online option for students to use to gain insight into their relationship with alcohol. The e-CHUG is a brief assessment tool that takes about 6-7 minutes to complete, is self-guided, requires no face-to-face contact time with a counselor, and is completely anonymous.

When you access the e-CHUG, you are prompted to enter some demographic information and information on your personal alcohol use. After all information has been entered, you submit the form. The information you entered is processed and then compares your responses to national college norms. Then your personalized feedback is displayed in a standard format.

The e-CHUG’s individualized feedback provides students with useful information on such items as:

  • Calorie intake
  • Peak Blood Alcohol Concentration
  • Income spent on alcohol
  • Norm comparisons
  • Tolerance levels
  • Genetic risk score
  • Personal results and explanations
  • Referral information

The e-CHUG is also a simple way for students to find out if a professional consultation might be useful. If, after completing the e-CHUG and receiving your feedback, you would like to speak with a counselor about your concerns, call the Elmhurst College Wellness Center at (630) 617-3565 and ask to schedule an intake appointment with a counselor. You can also walk in to the Wellness Center, located in the lower level of Niebuhr Hall, to schedule an intake appointment in person. The counselor can discuss your concerns with you and if needed, direct you to appropriate resources in the community.

Your participation in the e-CHUG is voluntary. You may withdraw from participating at any time. Your answers on the e-CHUG are strictly confidential. Your name is not attached to the form and no individual information is kept or provided to Elmhurst College.

e-TOKE
An Online Marijuana Use Self-Screening Instrument for Elmhurst College Students

Elmhurst College offers students free access to the e-TOKE (electronic THC Online Knowledge Experience). The e-TOKE is an online option for students to use to gain insight into their marijuana use. The e-TOKE is a brief assessment tool that takes about 10-15 minutes to complete, is self-guided, requires no face-to-face contact time with a counselor, and is completely anonymous.

When you access the e-TOKE, you are prompted to enter some demographic information and information on your personal marijuana use, spending patterns, and lifestyle. After all information has been entered, you submit the form. The information you entered is processed and then compares your responses to national college norms. Then your personalized feedback is displayed in a standard format.

Answering each question on the eTOKE truthfully and accurately will give you helpful feedback regarding your individual pattern of marijuana use and how it might be affecting your personal relationships, life and career goals, and overall health and well-being.

The e-TOKE is also a simple way for students to find out if a professional consultation might be useful. If, after completing the e-TOKE and receiving your feedback, you would like to speak with a counselor about your concerns, call the Elmhurst College Wellness Center at (630) 617-3565 and ask to schedule an intake appointment with a counselor.
