The Jans Family Veterans and Military Center
The Jans Family Veterans and Military Center offers student veterans a dedicated place to connect, recharge and find support.
Located in our Health Sciences Building, the center provides space to study, relax and build meaningful relationships with fellow veterans and military-affiliated students, many of whom participate in the campus Student Veterans of America club.
Within the center, student veterans will find areas for gathering and studying as well as a gaming lounge and dedicated office space for confidential conversations.
The center also provides access to valuable resources, including on-site support from a VA social worker and a Veterans Service Organization representative.
It’s amazing to have the Jans Center be so visible and to be recognized with a designated space that says, ‘We’re here to be helpful; we’re here for you.’

Academic Programs Geared Toward Veterans
As a certified Military Friendly School, Elmhurst offers personalized support as well as varied learning options to fit busy schedules. Flexible course delivery includes on-campus, online and hybrid offerings. Veterans can also get college credit for their military training and experience.
Choose from more than 80 undergraduate, graduate and certificate programs, with several accommodations tailored to adult and military-connected learners, including the Elmhurst Management Program, a business administration degree-completion program.
Elmhurst participates in the Yellow Ribbon Program, which is an agreement between the VA and the University that makes additional funds available for an undergraduate or graduate degree program without an additional charge to the student’s GI Bill® entitlement.
